One of the most well established and unique restaurants in Marbella is Trader Vic´s, situated just outside Puerto Banus in the Alcazaba Complex. Tropical cocktails and Polynesian food are the order of the day here, and the palm trees surrounding the terrace area give a Caribbean feel to the restaurant.
Open in the evenings, Trader Vic´s is famous for its fabulous food and excellent service. Dishes include American classics, wok dishes and slow roasted meats, specially prepared in Chinese wood fired ovens. After relaxing with a cocktail or two – many of which are rum based and mixed with exotic fruits and oriental flavourings – you can enjoy your surroundings while you browse the fabulous menu.
Having been an aficionado of Trader Vic´s for many years, we have sampled lots of the delicious dishes on offer, and favourites include:
Crab Rangoon in wonton skin with cream cheese; bamboo Hawaiian chicken skewers with pineapple; wood oven barbecued duck breast with apple chutney and shaved parmesan, fillet of turbot with choisum, soya and sesame sauce; seared tuna with pink peppercorns, and the sublime grilled lobster with lime beurre blanc.
The menus are specifically designed to suit all tastes, and include a fabulous range of vegetarian and wok dishes with a mouthwatering selection of sauces and accompaniments. The dessert choice is also wide and varied, and you are guaranteed to find a dish to suit your tastes.
Trader Vic´s really is an outstanding restaurant and booking in the summer time is highly recommended.
