Of all the religious buildings and monuments dotted around the Costa Del Sol, the Buddhist Temple (Stupa) at Benalmadena is the most stunning.
Built in 2004, this is the biggest temple of its kind in Western Europe, and boasts incredible views over the Coastline to Marbella and beyond. Even visitors who are not particular followers of the Buddhist faith enjoy the special atmosphere within the sacred walls of the temple, and marvel at the paintings and statues within. These include an impressive collection of traditional Himalayan Paintings, Statues and Literature and Buddhist monks are on hand to answer any of your questions.
Regular Meditation Classes and talks on Buddhism take place weekly and are open to all.
Different activities and events are held here throughout the year and all information about these can be obtained from the temple itself. A cafe and gift shop open in the Summer months at the entrance to monument, where you can, sit, relax and enjoy the amazing views.
