It may be unusual to recommend a Chinese Restaurant when in Spain, but the Tai Pan on the Golden Mile, Marbella, really is something special.
Situated next to the prestigious Puente Romano Hotel, this fabulous eaterie enjoys a great location and the most exquisite Chinese and Cantonese food on the coast.
The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and there is also an attractive outdoor terrace for dining al fresco when the weather permits.
Prices are reasonable and the chefs are experts in the preparation of rice and noodle dishes, so typical to Chinese Cuisine. The freshness and wide variety of ingredients used in these dishes combine to make a mouthwatering range of flavours.
Chinese food is great to share and we usually choose a selection of specialities between us. The last time we visited we ordered the following starters - Dim Sum (pork and prawn filled dumplings), Crab Meat and Sweetcorn Soup, the Salt and Pepper Squid and Lettuce Hearts with Minced Quail. All accompanied by sauces including hot and sour, chilli and authentic Soy.
Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.
To follow, we ordered the Fresh Lobster with Ginger and Spring Onion, served on a sizzling dish with noodles, Crispy Peking Duck, with pancakes and plum sauce, King Prawns with Satay Sauce and Sizzling Cantonese Steak – accompanied by the fluffiest Special Fried Rice and Soft Noodles.
The food was simply unbeatable and the service superb! Although we had no room for desserts, the house speciality is Bananas flambéed with honey and oriental liqueur which is fabulous. Also a large selection of ice creams, lychees, Sorbets and lighter desserts.
The Tai Pan Marbella is well worth a visit and for more information or to make a reservation call +34 952 777 893.

2The food was okay but extremely expensive however i have never experienced such rude and offensive staff, the service was appalling which regretfully ruined this meal.
