Nueva Andalucia could be described as the exclusive residential area of Puerto Banus situated on the other side of the motorway north of the port with its bullring clearly visible to the right as you approach the area, and El Corte Ingles to the left on the other side of the road.
It is a beautifully planned and attractive area west of Marbella which is approached by wide roads lined with palm trees. As its name suggests, the architecture of the villas and apartments are mainly based on traditional Andalusian design.
Situated within the within the boundaries of golf valley, Nueva Andaluca has become one of the most sought after residential areas of the Costa del Sol. It has received a huge amount of investment over the last ten years and is an area with superb infrastructure with amenities for all ages, including shops, restaurants, international schools and sports facilities.
The bullring marks the entrance to Nueva Andalucia. It is no longer used for bullfights and is about to be redeveloped into an excusive shopping and conference area. The road climbs past Centro Plaza with its excellent restaurants and shops, on towards the Sierra de Ronda mountains offering magnificent views of the coast, when on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and North Africa in the distance.
Every Saturday between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm a large market (rastro) is held here which sells everything from antiques to vegetables not forgetting the flowers, jewellery, watches and handbags. It is a great morning out to shop or just sit in one of the cafes and watch everyone else spend their money.

Sports enthusiasts will can find plenty on offer here with tennis courts, paddle tennis and a gymnasium. It is an ideal place for golfers with several fabulous courses including Los Naranjos and Westin La Quinta within a few minutes of each other.
Nueva Andaluca has several schools, including the international Aloha College, which is an independent, co-educational day school for pupils aged between 3-18 years. The college was founded in 1982 as a non-profit-making limited company by parent shareholders, and it now provides an international education for pupils of 38 different nationalities.
Nueva Andalucia is also home to one the Costa del Sols two casinos. The Casino Marbella has a large gaming room available and a great variety of slot machines. It stays open until the last gambler leaves, but remember to take your passport, or else you will not gain entry.
Nueva Andaluca is a great place to live and to visit because it is just a few minutes drive from the chic and stylish resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus, yet close to the natural beauty of the mountains and inland Spanish white villages which are only a short drive away.
