Miraflores Golf is a friendly golf club which welcomes members and visitors, both young and old. The course, which was opened in 1990 and designed by Falco Nardi, is situated within undulating valleys overlooked by the mountains of the Sierra de Mijas. It is relatively short by modern standards, although there are a number of tight doglegs on the front nine. In contrast the back nine is much more open. One thing that has blighted Miraflores though is the amount of development that has taken place around the course, which somewhat detracts from its natural beauty. On the plus side, the green fees are quite competitively priced compared to other courses on the Costa del Sol.

Every hole on the course presents its own challenge. On the fifth hole, for example, you have to play your tee shot over a lake and there is water behind the green. Thankfully though there are no bunkers guarding the green. The 6th (par 5) has a snaking fairway and a sharp dogleg at around 350 metres. It is a fairly tight hole with out of bounds on the left and right from the tee shot. In contrast the 7th (par 3) is literally more straightforward. One of the best holes on the course is the 12th (par 5). There is an elevated tee overlooking the landing area and a large lake with fountain in the middle of the fairway. There is more water to contend with on the 15th (par 3). The green is entirely surrounded by water so an accurate tee shot is very important. The finishing hole (par 4) is not too difficult, although you have to play it blind from the tee.

There is a maximum handicap at Miraflores of 27 for men and 36 for ladies.

Facilities
Miraflores likes to boast that it has the only covered and floodlit driving range in the whole of Spain. Besides this, there is a putting green, clubhouse with bar and restaurant, and the Miraflores Sports Massage and Beauty Centre. How to get to Miraflores
Miraflores is situated between Marbella and Fuengirola. Turn off the N340 highway at Riviera del Sol. Head westwards along the slip road which runs alongside the N340 before turning left into the Miraflores resort.
