The Malaga Film festival has been running since 1998. Each year that it runs it gets bigger and better.
During this wonderfull event that celebrates the best of Spanish cinematography the different sectors of the industry get together to discuss the future of the industry and give the film makers a chance to highlight their latest works.
There will be a host of full length movies, short films and documentaries many of which are unseen proper to the event.
This year’s event runs from the 4th April until the 12 April
Apart from the movies themselves there will be other events including workshops on women’s rights, master classes held at various venues across the City
The event also gives the young film makers a chance to show the industry and the public a selection of their work
The backbone of the festival however are the movies and the ZoneZine section of the event will see six feature films, twenty-five short films, twenty-seven video clips, and twelve works from Videocreazion local competition in Andalucia.
Apart from the local talent there will be a chance to see works from directors of political documentary films, many of whom come from the Latin American countries
Also at the event this year there will be a chance to enjoy six films from Morocco
The Picasso Museum in the city will play host too many meetings and discussions
This year the event will also pay tribute to some of the best names of Spanish filmmakers including actor and director Fernando Fernán Gómez, actress Concha Velasco, talent scout Luis San Narciso, directors Mario Camus and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, and producer Enrique López Lavigne.
If you have a love of Spanish film and television or just a love of film in general then this is an event that should not be missed
