For a great day out for the whole family the  Parque de las Ciencias Granada - Parque de las Ciencias (science park) in Granada is one that should not be missed. It not only provides some fascinating fun for the family , it is very educational as well.

There are over 270 interactive activities spread out among two exhibition buildings and other areas such as the Planetarium, the Tropical Butterfly House, the Observation Tower or the Astronomy Garden will help you to discover and understand certain scientific principles and phenomena

There are many fascinating exhibits such as the Biosphere Hall, where you will be able to see such things as the movement of the piranhas by camera, learn about human DNA and there is a fascinating clock which counts the world’s population in real time. You can also locate the Earth in space, then go on to look at the geological changes, and then followed look into a insight into the appearance of life and the need for an ecological balance to maintain it.
Eureka Hall, is all do with the phenomena of physics. you can lean about handling electrical circuit boards, play with a gyroscope, and experiment with the air’s strength. Here you should also check out Perception Hall where you can play with light and sound, fly thanks to the reflection of your image in a mirror, step into a giant kaleidoscope, and learn about fibre optics and even discover how our brain tricks us when perceiving certain phenomena.

One of the best ways to see the extent of this fascinating attraction is to visit the Observation Tower which stands 50 m above the Parque de las Ciencias. Here you really get a good view of the park and you can enjopy the stunning views of the City of GranadaGranada - Science Park and the countryside beyond. It is a unique belvedere over the city of Granada. Located at the foot of the tower you can see an exhibition on Towers throughout History and Culture and, as you descend the 176 stairs, another exhibition on Size and Life.

In the Astronomy Garden you will see clocks, solar calendars, models and other elements to follow the daily and yearly paths of the stars. When here take time to look at the interactive sundial.

You should also visit the Planetarium where visitors can enjoy a thrilling journey through the Universe. There are 110 projectors which reproduce over 7,000 stars. There is an additional charge for this and details of the show times can be found at the ticket office.

One part of the park that should not be missed is the Tropical Butterfly House where you get the chance to enjoy finding out about the world of butterflies and the different tropical species that live on this planet.

There is a restaurant-cafeteria with a difference here the Vía Lactea (Milky Way) Restaurant-Cafeteria offers a wide range of food and drinks but also you will find other scientific experiences to do with the universe, nutrition and foodstuffs
There is also a shop where you can buy simple scientific experiments and games you can do at home. There are also science books, posters and souvenirs.

The park is fully accessible for disabled visitors and you can request a wheelchair at the ticket office.
