Cervantes Theater MalagaThe Cervantes theatre in Malaga is one of the most famous theaters in Andalucia and is well known for hosting everything from rock concerts to ballet.  There is one section of the theatre that is my favorite however and that is the Sala Albéniz where throughout the year this wonderful venue hosts plays and shows which are a godsend to parents and children alike.

In March there are five great shows which appeal to children of all ages starting on 1st March

THE ADVENTURES OF BRAVE PENEQUE
This wonderful story performed by  Miguel Pino Children’s Productions tells the story of Pino the puppeteer, who comes from 1959 to the present day . Pino’s only dream is to own a small theater with marionettes and puppets, however when he is hired to perform he arrives a day to early and everything goes wrong until the day is saved by Godmother Tina who is able to make Pino’s dream come true using the ¨The Big Book of Wishes.

This  magical  60 minute show which is suitable for all ages is performed twice on the day at 11.00hrs and again at 13.00hrs

THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER

This adaptation of the classic novel by Mark Twain is been performed by the Algarabía Company and is suitable for children 5 years and above
The show lasts for 70 minutes and is again performed twice at 11.00hrs and 13.00hrs

THE WIRELESS
This musical production performed by the Vaivén Productions Company follows the lives of Doubt, Diva and Upright, the ¨Wireless¨ vocal trio who are just about to perform their first concert and are overcome with doubt . The stories shows us how the three different personalities deal with their fears.
It is meant to teach us about the strong values of  friendship and tolerance as a solution for overcoming our ghosts.

The 60 minute show really is one for all the family from  ages 5 to 90. It is performed at 11.00hrs and 13.00hrs

KEYHOLES AND BOLTS

Cuarta Pared Company working in collaboration with the Board of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid and the Ministry of Culture – INAEM perrom this show that mixes : mystery, humor and social weight. Its message is clear , we  need to laugh at ourselves, accept that mistakes we make and most importantly, learn from then

The show which lasts 55 minutes is again performed twice on the day at 11.00hrs and 13.00hrs and is suitable for 6 years and up

ROBIN HOOD
_Acontrabutaca Productions  are performing this magical musical adaptation of the classic story of Robin Hood, the nobleman who on his return from the crusades, seeing the tyranny of Prince John  that has taken hold becomes the lovable outlaw who robbed the rich to help the poor.
