The town of Alcala la Real in the Andalucian province of Jaén will be the setting for Etnosur, a fabulous multicultural festival of music, theatre, circus, cinema, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, crafts, food…and much much more

This wonderful festival is now in its 11th year and provides entertainment for all the family, which is held over a three day period with events running from 10am to the early hours of the next day.The event this year takes place on the 20, 21 and 22nd of July
The festival attracts a host of performers from across the globe including the Tibetan Monks from the Tashi Lhunpi Monastery, and the show this year features Tibet with many workshops tradition music concerts and an exhibition “Tibet una mirada”, Tai Chi workshops, martial arts and a poetry workshop on the theme of Drugs, Music and Sex

The town which is located in the Jaen Province 60km from Jaén itself, Granada is 53km and the is a bus service from both of these cities. And has a good selection of hotels and restaurants that can cater for the visitors.

The town is also well known for it mineral springs and has some very impressive historic buildings such as the town hall with its clock tower and La Mota castle located at the top of a hill and commanding some impressive views over the town. There is a superb museum located in the castle and this just adds to the charm of the Castle itself and makes the walk up the hill even more worth it
