Top music events are one of the main attractions that Andalucia has to offer in addition to its fabulous beaches, fantastic weather and bustling nightlife.
Right across the region there are some wonderful venues hosting events from local bands to world class recording artists
One such event is coming to the Andalucian capitol Seville in July when Depeche Mode the world famous band from the UK perform at the Estadio Olímpico de Sevilla on the 12th
The concert is part of a huge tour by the band in support of their new album Sounds of the Universe
The Band
The band formed which in 1980, in Basildon, Essex, England have produced some spectacular music over the years and have had forty-five songs in the UK Singles Chart, as well as one U.S. and two UK number one albums.
They have sold over 75 million albums worldwide, as part of total worldwide record sales in excess of 100 million according to EMI. The band lineup has changed twice over the years, the first in 1981 when founding member Vince Clarke left the band and then again in 1995 when Alan Wilder who had been with the band since 1982 announced he was leaving the band. The three remaining members are as were when the band formed Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter after 1981) and Andrew Fletcher (keyboards)
The Venue
The Estadio Olímpico de Sevilla was built with the aim of hosting the Olympic Games one day and was officially inaugurated in 1999, It holds up to 60,000 spectators and boasts excellent facilities.
The venue is a popular venue in Seville and quite often hosts football matches and cultural events. Next to the stadium there is a hotel, a museum and a shopping centre.
Getting To The Venue
The Stadium is located on the outskirts of Seville the in La Catuja neighbourhood.
Once in The City the best way to get to the stadium is to take the bus on line 1 or 2 from the centre.
