The Torreblanca Golf Society plays every Thursday at some of the best local courses. To join costs just 25 euros and this includes T-shirt, badge and reduced green fees. December 6th – 9th, Marbella
The 2nd Marbella Amateur Open take place over 4 days on four different courses in the Marbella area; Los Naranjos, La Quinta, Santa Clara and La Cala. This individual Stableford competition is open to any amateur player with a handicap. The cost of 270 euros covers registration, daily picnic, buggy hire and prizes. December 14th, Calanova Golf
The Cudeca Christmas Competition is part of the REM radio telethon, which aims to raise thousands of euros for the Cudeca cancer care charity. This is a Stableford competition with a shotgun start, followed by a prize-giving dinner in the evening.

December 15th, Doña Julia
Doña Julia’s Christmas tournament starts at 8.30am. The price, which has yet to be finalised, will include tea or coffee. Around 80 players are expected to take part. For more information, email the caddy master on info@golfdonajulia.com.

December 15th, Guadalhorce Golf

December 31st, La Cala
The Campo Asia course at La Cala hosts the end-of-year Trofeo San Miguel. The competition is for teams of two, although the organisers will help to find teams for single players. The entry fee of 50 euros per person includes green fee, shared buggy and cocktail. Afterwards there will be a prize-giving ceremony. Players must have a Spanish or International handicap.
