Islantilla GolfThe Islantilla Golf resort is one of the longest established courses in Huelva province, having opened in 1991. Designed by Luis Recasens and Enrique Canales, Istanilla has been rated amongst the top 100 European courses by the respected magazine, Golf Digest. It has also hosted the 1995 Turespana Masters tournament won by Alex Cejka, as well as several tour events. With three loops of nine holes, Islantilla offers a variety of playing situations, with tight fairways meandering through pine trees, smooth slopes, fast greens and several water hazards. The course, which uses Pencross grass on the greens and Agrostis on the fairways, provides a challenge for golfers of all levels. This is a beautiful venue, with lush vegetation and some lovely sea views.

The first nine holes require several blind shots. Notable holes on this section include the par-3 2nd, on which you need to play a perfect tee shot due to the presence of a small lake. The second loop of nine holes is much more undulating, while the final section requires a few long drives, especially at the 27th hole.

Facilities
Islantilla has a good selection of practice facilities, including a covered driving range, putting green, chipping green and practice bunkers. The clubhouse, which has been constructed in a colonial style, benefits from a prime location on the course. With superb views out to the Atlantic, this is the perfect place to relax after a challenging round. Just 50 metres from the clubhouse is a 204-room hotel which contains a buffet restaurant, outdoor pool, bar and terrace. There’s also a beauty centre, with Turkish baths, sauna and Jacuzzi. Islantilla has a respected golf school, with lessons and training programmes developed by PGA professionals. As you might expect, the golf school uses the latest video technology and training techniques.
