The village of Grazalmena is located in the stunning Sierra del Endrinal in Cadiz province and is located in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the province , if not the whole of Andalucia. The village marks the entrance to the Sierra de Grazalmena national park.
The surrounding area is dominated by a rocky outcrop known as Peñon Grande.
The main attractions in the village are the church of La Aurora which was built in the 18th century and is located in the main square , the Plaza de España . Also in the square you will find the parish church, the Iglesia de la Encarnación and the town hall.
Other buildings of note in the village include a former Carmelite convent with paintings by a disciple of Murillo, the Iglesia de San José which dates from the 17th century.
Grazalema is also famous for its woolen blankets, rugs, ponchos and scarves , an industry that dates back to the 17th century and it is still possible to see a working workshop in the village today. The Artesanía-Textil de Grazalema is located on the Ronda road and here it is possible to see looms and carding machines and if you fancy you can buy blankets and other textiles in the shop. The main reason to visit the village is the surrounding countryside. The village sits at the entrance to the stunning Sierra de Grazalmena national park where you can take part in many different activities including rock climbing, mountain biking, pot-holing, horse riding and guided visits.
It is a popular area for campers and there is a very good campsite located . on the C344 at Km 49 to El Bosque called Camping Tajo Rodillo where prices start from just 12 € for a tent pitch , or if you fancy slightly more comfort then why not rent one of the stunning cabins , which start from 75€ for a 2 person cabin.

There are also some wonderful hotels in the village and also on the outskirts such as the four-star Puerta de la Villa which offers both hotel rooms and apartments which sleep up to six people.

On the outskirts on the A372 to Ronda at Km 53 is the four-star Hotel Fuerte Grazalema which is situated in the heart of the National Park

During mid July is a great time to visit as the village holds its annual fiesta, with flamenco music, fireworks and a procession, culminating in an exciting mini-Pamplona, where a bull is released to charge through the streets… This event takes place around the 16th of the month so as to incorporate the Virgen del Carmen fiesta day
In the village there are numerous companies that offer activities in the park and details of these companies can be obtained from the local tourist office located in the Plaza de España. Here you can also find information on walks the park and local accommodation and also arrange permits that are needed for certain routes.
The tourist office also sells maps and locally produced handicrafts, such as leatherwork, ceramics and blankets, as well as honey, wine and cheese
