Almeria Airport is about 8km (5 miles) east of Almeria city centre, just off the main AL12 road. It can also be accessed from the A7 motorway. This is a fairly small, but modern airport which is clean and well-maintained, although it can get quite busy at peak periods. It is within easy reach of several resorts on the Costa de Almeria, including Roquetas, Mojacar and Aguadulce, and is the third most important airport in Andalucia after Malaga and Seville.
The airport terminal is divided into three floors. The ground floor contains the arrivals area, shops, a café-bar and the baggage reclaim. The departures area is found on the first floor, and on the upper floor is a rooftop café with terraces.
Almeria Airport’s car park is situated in front of the terminal building. It is quite small with a capacity of around 300 cars. It costs 0.40 euros to park for the first half hour, another 0.50 euros for the next 30 minutes, and an extra 0.47 euros for every half hour after that.
The airport code is LEI. For more information visit the official website at www.aena.es.
