There are many festivals and fairs right across Andalucia throughout the year celebrating everything from Religious holidays to music.

This September, however sees a festival of a different kind in the coastal town of Estepona on the western Costa del Sol. This beautiful up market resort is playing host to the 9th Estepona Horror and Fantastic Film Week. Lovers of horror and fantastic films will enjoy a week of films, galas, competitions, award-giving ceremonies as well as food workshop.

Some of the highlights of the event include

A section dedicated to Spanish and International films

A special section which will pay tribute to the a magnificent Kristanna Loken who has starred in some great movies including “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” “BloodRayne,” and “Ring of the Nibelungs”

There section is also dedicated to the music composer Fernando Velázquez, responsible for the soundtrack of “The Orphanage.”

Other things featured in this section include Mexican classical wrestling movies, and the blockbusting TV show “Heroes” and the fabulous “Doctor Who.”

The 7th Horror and Fantastic Short Film Competition features six finalists will also be held
